Team spirit and team work were the two basic ingredients of the J.V. Field Hockey Team. Winning was important but not the only means to an end. Skills of the team were per- fected throughout the season with the help of Coach Siska. Practices were hard and ex- hausting. Memories were the winning game against Shepherd Hill; the victory against Bartlett and the winning goals of Erin Lombard! • and Kim Jarvis, The captains Andrea Shea and Sharon Zuidema kept spirits high among the team members.

Future Varsity players were evident in this yearfe J.V. Basketball team as reported by Mr. Ellis, Coach. A slow start had the team begin the season, losing k games, Theil the skills and players united, ending the season winning 10 league games.

This team, dominated by sophomores, shows promise for the future. The most thrilling game remembrairecwas probably the one we lost when we lost in double overtime at Nipmuc.

These enthusiastic artists, Barbara Richard, Karan Muzzy, and Cindy Libbey, are members of the Newly formed Art Club, under the dir- ection of Miss Gallup. The club is hoping to complete a mural of the Sutton Suzies which is to hang in the S.H.S. gym. This mural will be a match to the one of the Sutton Sammies.

Rom's in Sturbridge was the setting for the 1931 aKS banquet . Highlighting the occasion v/as the -^.ddress made by John LeClaire, a former graduate of SFIS. In the speech, the theme "Made it in Sutton", was transformed ihto positive reflections for the future gr-^duates of SHS. John's point of view made the members of MHS re^^lize ^nd see that it is yourself \\'hich motivates you to succeed. Coming from a small town school is not an adverse factor to your future goals. You must made your ov;n choices and pursue the goals which bring you self-S'-tisf action. Service -awards were presented to Mrs. Carlson, and to ^ sur-prised Mr, Lamontagne. The service award h^s been presented each year to person selected by the senior members of I^JHS, pxid. both recipients this \enr h^ve demonstrated service to the school -n-;'' its' students.

Organizing a yearbook is no easy task. It's always exciting to receive a book in June and enjoy looking at the pictures of ourselves. Never did we realize the amount of time need- ed to publish a book. The hours of planning, discussing, and arranging were endless. Then the actual work begins.

International relationships were broadened this year by the presence of Silke Niemeier of Hamburg, Germany.

Eager to learn, Silke followed an American high school schedule, studying English, Kath, American Government and other subjects. She enjoyed participating in the extra-curricular activities related to the sports programs at 3.H.S. and to the yearbook, A conscientious and pleasant young lady, Silke made many friends here. She has been able to go on the field trips, visit Boston and New York.

Because of Silke, the students have become more aware of themselves and their life style, being able to make comparisons with Silke. School, she finds, is easier and the emphasis is placed on subject areas other than what she was accustomed to in Germany. School spirit and excitement surprised her.

Students say, "I like Silke',' "Why?" I asked. "What has this relationship done for you?"
